Homework for 9/21

After you read for at least 20 min, please leave the title and author of your book in the comment section.  This week I want you to talk to me about your mental images also.  In your comment, tell me what words the author used to help you create a mental image.  Remember that when you use the authors words, you need to put the word or words in "quotation marks".

    I read Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls wilder. The wors that helped me create my mental image was 'Her teeth were stuck together by candy.

    today I read The 39 Clues 12 by Gordon Kormon the sentence that helped me make my mental image was he was about 4 feet tall and had neat dreadlocks that went down to his shouleders

    i read the Lorax By Dr. Suess the descriptive sentence was the lorax looked brownish and old.

    When the author said the words "bright short blazes less than a thousanth second"
    is when I got my mental image of elves lightning.

    The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies my picture was that when" Scoot said wow we have sold 14 cups". it made me think there was a big line with about 10 people!

    I read Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan. I imagined that Percy looked tired and dirty when the book said "I must have looked like a homeless kid".

    I read Junie B. Jones and Her Big Fat Mouth by Barbara Park. The words " Kung Fu " is my Mental Image. It reminds me of my karate class

    I read Goddess Girls by Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams. I pictured Athena and her friends chanting for Poseidon when the author wrote "Athena and her friends swished their sparkly fans."

    I read the book Just Grace by:Charise Haper
    My mental image was Grace as corn with pices of corn on the end of her streamers when I heard the words "Grace the singing dancing corncob that looks beautiful with fun streamers with pices of corn on the ends". Fun. Reminds me of today when we heard singing and dancing at the play today. Abbey
