10/10 Genre

We reviewed genre last week.  Read for 20 minutes.  Record the title and author of your book in the comment section.  Then write 2-5 sentences telling me what genre your book fits in and why.  You can use this resource to help remind you about the different types of genres.  Use my example to guide you.

  1. I am still reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling. I think the genre is fantasy because the characters are taking a class about magic.

  2. I read The Lorax by Dr.Seuss. I think it fits in fiction because there are no talking animals in the world trying to save trees. There are also no trees that are softer then silk and smells like butterfly milk. You can't find singing fish.

    I think that the genres is realistic fiction. This is because it was made up in the author's head, but could really happen to a real person.

  7. I read Just Grace and the Snack Attack by charise Harper.I think this is realistic fiction. This story could happen to a kid. For example you can make stuff animals.Also you can write books.

    the teacher. And his teacher was a famous basket ball player.His teacher trash talk to Nate in the game

  12. I'm reading the Wimpy Kid Movie Diary.by Jeff Kinney. I think it will be realist fiction because it happend but it's cartoon.

  13. I read "George Washington" by Barbara Knox.I think it is in the genre biography because there are many facts and many important events in his life.Also,the book is not written by George Washington so it is a biography.We get inspiration from reading biographies of great people.

    This book is fantasy and fiction. It is fantasy because there is a cat talking in real life. And there is a ghost that can turn into anything.

  15. I'm still reading Harry Potter And The Chamber of The Secrets by J.K. ROWLING.I think the genre of this book is mystery because Harry Pottery is looking for the person that opened the Chamber of Secrets.

    I read a graphic novel Lily's Lucky Leotard by C. Meister. This is a realistic fiction book. The main character is Lily who is made-up, but could exist in real life.

  20. I read more of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. I think it's a fantasy because the animals can talk. The spider can also talk and spell words with webs.

  21. My book i am reading is Big Nate by Jeff Kinney.My genre is realistic fiction because their is characters that looks real but they are really not. Nate is a boy like me but the author made him up for the story.

    The lightning Thief genres is fantasy because there is no such thing as half horse have human. EXAMPLE real things are not like made up thats fiction.
