FACT vs. OPINION

We have talked about facts and opinions. A fact is something that we can prove with text evidence. An opinion is something that either the reader or author feels. We may agree or disagree with an opinion. Read for 20 minutes. Record the title and author of your book. Then, record either 1 fact or 1 opinion from your book. Tell us how you know that the sentence is a fact or an opinion. Happy Reading.

    I read Still Just Grace by Charise Harper.My fact is Just Grace is not a cry baby. FOR EXAMPLE she did not tell her mom her name at school so she won't drag her back to school.

    I am reading Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney. In this book my fact is that Greg did try to earn some money and Greg's opinion is that he said my family doesn't have anything that's really nice to say.Greg try to to earn money because for something and the opinion was because he was said.

    Ron thinks Hermione should not have gone to the ball with Krum. He thinks she is a traitor because Krum is in the Triwizard tournament against Harry. That is his opinion.

    I found a fact in King Arthur by Marc Brown. Buffy said to Muffy that King Henry VIII was her great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-uncle. This is a fact because Buffy can prove that by showing Muffy her family pictures and her family tree.

    I'm reading Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. ROWLING. Hermione wrote Harry Potter letter I think that is fact, because you can prove that Hermione wrote Harry a letter by finding Hermione's letter.

    I read Skippyjon Jones by Judy Schachner. Skippyjon Jones's mother thinks that the dogs in school are unruly,drooly,ferocious and atrocious. I know that the sentence is an opinion because when Skippyjon Jones went to school the dogs did not act that way.
