We have talked about facts and opinions. A fact is something that we can prove with text evidence. An opinion is something that either the reader or author feels. We may agree or disagree with an opinion. Read for 20 minutes. Record the title and author of your book. Then, record either 1 fact or 1 opinion from your book. Tell us how you know that the sentence is a fact or an opinion. Happy Reading.

A opinion is that the controls in the7X200 Sea Loin are very simple it is a opinion because it might be hard for other people.
I am reading the Spiderwick Chronicles The Ironwood Tree by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. When they are in the cave, Simon sees a glow and telss Jared it is Bioluminescence which is when something makes its own light. This is a fact statement.

Henry and Mudge Take the Big Test by Cynthia Rylant. It was funny when Mudge danced. This is how I feel so it is an opinion.

I read "It Came From Outer Space" by Henry Baker. This book is about three boys who thought they saw a meteorite, but it was really a nozzle from a rocket.
ReplyDeleteThe fact is the flames from the nozzle makes the rocket go up. My opinion is the boys were really adventurous.

One fact is that Gringott goblins have very long fingers. The author wrote this, that is how I know it is a fact.

ReplyDeleteIn Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney Greg said that it gets on his nerves when Rowley skips around the playground. This is his opinion because other people might think that skipping is fun to watch. Rowley said that Greg was just jealous of his skipping since Greg doesn't know how to do it.

I read chapter 12 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. The King thinks that Huckleberry is not hiding something that belongs to the King him self. I know that my sentence is a opinion because when the King visited Huckleberry again he did have something that he was hiding.
