QAR

Now that we have been practicing QAR in the classroom, let's see what you can do on your own at home!

Read for 20 minutes.  Record the title and author of your book.  Then, create a question, an answer and tell me the QAR that would work for that question/answer relationship.  Be sure to tell me WHY you think that is the best QAR for the question and answer  you created.

Example:
Charlotte's Web by E.B. White
Why did Charlotte want to come up with a plan to help save Wilber's life?
She thought Wilber was a fun, sensitive, kind pig who deserved to live.
QAR- Think and Search
I know this because I had to look for example throughout the book that told me what Charlotte thought about Wilber.

QAR 2/2

We have been learning about QAR- Question Answer Relationship

Thinking about the four types of questions, read for 20 minutes and then write a question.
Tell us what type of question you created and how you know...
Remember our four types of questions are"
1. Right There- you can point to the answer
2. Think and Search- you have to take information from many places in the text to get your answer
3. Author and Me- you have to take what the author wrote and your background information to help answer the question
4. On My Own- these questions are our opinions

Good luck and HAPPY READING.
