11/14

After reading for 20 minutes, share with us what reading strategy you used while reading.  You may use and comment on any of the following strategies:

  1. Connections (text to self, text to text, text to world)
  2. Mental Images (What words helped you create a picture?)
  3. Context Clues (What word was new or beautiful for you?  What words in the book helped you discover the meaning of that word?)
  4. Fact and Opinion (Give evidence to support if the sentence from your story is a fact or an opinion.)
  5. Character Development (Provide examples to show how your character's emotions are changing in the story.)

    Meet Me in Horrorwood by Geronimo Stilton is my book. I thought of a green slimy blobby blob when I read "He's not stinking like he always does. His green slime coloring has faded."

    I read On The Banks Of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I have a fact for you today "Pa stopped the wagon" I know this is a fact because its true and it happened. :] :]

    I read Little House On The Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. One reading strategy I used to help me was Mental imaging.The words that helped me create a picture were creek bottoms those words helped me create a mental image of creek bottoms.

    I read seires of unfortanate events #4 the misrible mill by Lemony Snicket.
    I had a mental image when I saw the words noone can pronounce the bosses name.

    I read Keiko's story by Linda Moore Kruth. ' 'Opinoin' Keiko is so nice.

    I read It's a Wrestling Mat, Not a Dance Floor by Scott Nickel. The strategy I used while I was reading was mental images. The word that helped me create a picture was I hear my sister and her squad cheer: " take 'em down, break 'em down, turn 'em over, pin!

    I read Gilda Joyce ladies of the Lake by Jennifer Allison.A t-s I had was sometimes I can get sad and mad at the same time.I finished my book 339 pages and no pictures.

    Title: Little House in the Big Woods
    Chapter 6
    Author: Laura Ingalls Wilder
    I used the metal image strategy such as the "wind went Crying". "Laura listened to the wind in the BIG Wood. All around the house the wind went crying as though it were lost in the dark and cold. The wind sounded frightened"

    I read Junie B. Jones First Grader at last. By Barbara Park. Junie B. is sad in the book because her friend Lucile does not like her any more but they used too be best friends. Lucile is happy because she has 2 new best friends named Camille and Chenille.

    Today I started reading No Room For Dessert by Hallie Durand. I used Metal Imaging. My mental image is, the girl had a brother that said her name wrong. My little sister says my name wrong to.

    I read Geronimo Stilton's Secret Agent. The words, "Always wears a mysterious, delicate, and sophisticated perfume that makes her immediatley identifiable and.....fascinating!" helped create a mental image of Veronica.
