Happy Election Day!

This week in reading we are continuing to use Fix- Up strategies. We are learning about using context clues to help us figure out the meaning of unknown words. Read for 20 minutes. Record the Title of your book and the Author’s name. Write about a word that you used context clues to find the meaning for or tell about other reading strategies you used.

    Tittle:Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling.These are the words that helped me out on my unknowning word protruding,:Hand, from cloak,and glistening. I think protruding means coming out of something.

    I used context clues to find out the meaning of the word scrawny. It was describing trees that were small.

    I am still reading Ivy and Bean-Break the Fossil Record by A. Barrows. Emeralds was the word that I got confused about. The words around it helped me understand what it meant. Now I know that emeralds are a type of precious stones that are deep, rich green.
